Meet Kaylee

My name is Kaylee Bullen and I am the owner of The Human Collective. I am originally from Michigan and, after graduating with my undergraduate degree from The University of Michigan, I decided I wanted to pursue a new (and warmer) adventure in New Orleans, Louisiana. In 2018, I graduated with my masters of Social Work from Tulane University. After a couple of years living and working in New Orleans, I decided to take on yet another adventure by relocating to San Diego. It is in San Diego where I began to truly find myself as a clinician. I have returned back to my roots and spending time in both Lousiana and Michigan and practicing exclusively as a virtual clinician. I work with clients in California, Michigan and Louisiana!

As a human, I love to spend time with my husband, family, friends and cat. I recently gave birth to my first child, a baby girl, and I am learning to navigate the difficult and beautiful world of motherhood! I love to go out and try new restaurants or stay at home and cook new recipes. â€‹My guilty pleasures include Tiktok, reality TV and taking naps.

As a therapist, I employ various modalities to tailor treatment to each client's unique needs. I am currently trained in trained in Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD, phobias, and anxiety related disorders as well as Inference-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (ICBT) for OCD and related conditions. I also use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) as well as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for a wide-range of mental health issues, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, complex family dynamics and relationships.

I primarily work with adolescents, young adults and adults who are struggling with anxiety, OCD, depression, complex family dynamics (including those impacted by addiction), relationships & dating, grief & loss, life transitions, and self exploration and identity.

I am learning and growing everyday and hope to continue to pursue trainings to ensure I am as effectives as I can be for my clients.

Meet Lydia

Clients seeking my care are often looking for warmth and support as they navigate their pain. In therapy, we first focus on creating an environment of trust and safety. As we discuss sensitive topics, you will set the pace. We will get to know each other and spend time tailoring care to your specific needs. We will collaborate to set unique therapeutic goals as you work toward a future aligned with your values.

I am passionate about working with clients to address anxiety, OCD, difficulties in relationships, grief, and trauma. I also help clients explore how their identities evolve throughout their life course and in relationships. In my work, I employ humanistic, person-centered therapy and emphasize the importance of our relationship and communication.

As a social worker, my clinical work is largely influenced by sociological theory. Human development is deeply impacted by the systems surrounding us: ableism, capitalism, homophobia, patriarchy, and white supremacy. Through psychotherapy we work to fully understand the disconnection in our lives and communities caused by these social constructs.

We face inordinate pressure to improve ourselves constantly. In therapy, we examine the impact of this pressure and create a space where each part of ourselves is embraced in pursuit of wholeness. With compassion for ourselves, change is possible.
